It looks like the General Lafayette Inn is going to get a new lease on life. The historic property, which has been dark for longer than you’ve been of legal drinking age — since the fall of 2010, anyway — will soon come back as Barren Hill. Foobooz reports that the owners of South Philly’s Devil’s Den and Manayunk’s Old Eagle Tavern are behind its revival. And not only are they planning to bring service back to the bar and restaurant, they’re also going to resuscitate the inn’s microbrewery and craft beers for at least six of the 30 taps that are going in. The double-d’s chef Paul Trowbridge will head the kitchen, and mid-to-late summer is being targeted for the opening. [Foobooz; Earlier]
