Chef and former reality-TV contestant Angelo Sosa closed his two-year-old Social Eatz last week in midtown, Bloomberg’s Ryan Sutton notes, but a sign attached to the front door hints at a “new, exciting concept” coming to the space next. That would be the opening of “Asian gastropub” Poppy Den, the first of which Sosa opened last year in Las Vegas with former Planet Hollywood president Bill Feather. Caesar salad with yuzu dressing is on the menu, as are kimchi fried rice and roast duck with poppy dressing. The chef is back in New York now; expect a late spring opening.
