wd~50’s Wylie Dufresne’s reps tell us that his much-anticipated new restaurant in the East Village (157 Second Avenue, near 10th Street) is scheduled to open in exactly one week. It’ll serve dinner on Wednesday through Sunday and offer kooky, avant-garde renditions of dishes like clam chowder, Caesar salad, and chicken liver toast. Other key details: Alder will operate on a walk-in basis; it’s a 56-seat pub-style restaurant; and this is the official website, in case you want to furiously press refresh until a menu is released.
