After twelve years together, the loss of a Michelin star in 2010, and an award for “most disappointing cooking,” Gordon Ramsay and Claridge’s are parting ways. The Evening Standard is reporting that he quit after failing to negotiate a new long-term contract. The London hotel’s general manager released a statement saying, “We feel the time has come, however, for a new dining direction for Claridge’s,” which means they’ll hire a nice, normal, humble chef who speaks at normal octaves. Ramsay will recover from this breakup just fine; the mass amount of ice cream he eats will inspire his new venture, “Brain Freeze.” [Earlier, Evening Standard]
