Mimi’s Hummus Offers Catering; Brunch Service Starts at the Pines and L’Apicio

• Gowanus’s the Pines (Littleneck’s kid brother) will now be open seven days a week (it was closed Tuesdays), and is starting brunch this Saturday, December 1. On weekends from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., look out for standbys like a steak, egg, and cheese biscuit, but also buckwheat waffles with smoked bluefish and venison tartare served with duck yolk. L’Apicio (reviewed this week by our own Adam Platt) has also announced that brunch will commence this weekend. The menu includes pumpkin pancakes, short-rib hash, several pasta dishes, and a house-cured gravlax sandwich. [Grub Street]

• Having a chickpea party? No need to trek south of Prospect Park for some seriously good Middle Eastern food: Mimi’s Hummus is now offering free citywide delivery of their catering menu. [Grub Street]

• Recently opened Greenwich Village Mexican restaurant El Toro Blanco is now serving lunch: Look out for straightforward crowd-pleasers like burritos, Mexican chopped salad, and tortilla soup. [Grub Street]

• Murray Hill’s the Churchill is collaborating with Bulldog Gin for a happy hour in honor of the birthday of their namesake prime minister on Friday, November 30, from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. A portion of the evening’s proceeds will be donated to the Red Cross’s Sandy relief efforts. [Grub Street]
