Naturally, Grey Lodge Pub gets first dibs on this year’s Mad Elf draughts. The popular cherry and honey-laden Belgian strong ale that Hershey’s Troegs Brewing Company brings to market every holiday season goes on tap tonight for the very first time at the Northeast Philly bar. In addition to this year’s release of the cult favorite, Grey Lodge is simultaneously tapping a barrel left over from last year, so beer nerds can get real deep in the grock of Mad Elf-dom. Expect drunken-elfin merriment, Troegs swag on sale, and several other rare beers from the brewery. The suds start flowing at 6 p.m. Go early. They will run out.
