Deco Lounge, the Tenderloin gay bar at 510 Larkin Street, closed its doors last week. It was long rumored that new owners were stepping in, and now Mission Mission reports that those owners are the same guys who own Benders Bar (806 South Van Ness), the beloved dive with the fried pickles and Wednesday whiskey deals. Deco is a fairly huge space, with an elaborate, antique back bar, three rooms on the main floor, an upstairs, and a basement room as well. Reportedly the name is going to change, and it won’t be a gay bar anymore, but stay tuned for further details. [Mission Mission]
