Suddenly waking up in the G-Ho neighborhood is going to be a lot better. That’s because Elizabeth and Aaron Ultimo, owners of Ultimo Coffee, which shares space with the South Philadelphia Taproom’s bottle boutique spin-off Brew near 15th and Mifflin streets in the Newbold section, opened the doors to their second location near 22nd and Catherine streets this morning. Like its predecessor to the South, the second location serves coffee Durham, NC’s Counter Culture Coffee, and a selection of bagels and pastries from local bakers. In addition to the coffee shop and all it serves, this spot will also serve as the local outpost of Counter Intelligence, the training academy for Counter Culture.
