SQIRL Cafe just held its first weekend service and it came out swinging. Chef/proprietor Jessica Koslow tweeted a picture of fresh geoducks which sent the local deepend diners into a state of arousal. Ria Wilson, the sous chef, tagged the geoduck with “#lookslikeadong”, then promptly proclaimed she loved her job. Sadly, the seafood crudo (fennel, dandelion, sorrel pesto, and lime) was a 1 day-only special. Perhaps sea cucumber or penis fish will make its way unto the menu next weekend. In the meantime, there will be fresh brioche and sexy jams available Thursdays to Tuesdays. [LA Weekly]
