Have you been to Sprout since Jeffrey Sills took the reins in the kitchen as chef de cuisine? He’s hardly the dramatic straight-from-TV personality his boss Dale Levitski (more focused lately on frog n snail) is, but he’s doing solidly interesting, visually inventive stuff that carries on Sprout’s reputation as an artistic, approachable outlier among the fine dining joints. And if you’re looking for a time to check them out, the new Sunday dinners are a good choice. Beginning October 21, they’ll serve a themed meal beginning with a reception with drinks and hors d’oeuvres, the third Sunday of every month. The first one’s theme is apples, with appetizers and four courses shaped by midwestern apple varieties, and sparkling cider during the reception. It starts at 6 p.m. and the price is a very reasonable $65; for reservations, call 773-348-0706.
