Spacca Napoli was no ordinary pizza place when it opened several years ago, and it won’t be an ordinary one Monday night, either. To celebrate the unveiling of its new mosaic, inspired by an ancient fresco discovered in the town of Stabiae near Pompeii, it’s putting on a full night of Italian food and culture Monday October 29. Historian Domenico Mazzella will lead a discussion on “Pompeii and the Food of the Ancient Romans,” there will be live Italian folk music and opera, and then, because this is Italy and not Norway we’re talking about, there will be a big Italian feast of antipasti, piatti and second, sweets and wine. The cost is $100; go here for tickets, and see the complete menu (in Latin, Italian and English!) below.
