Co-owner John Longo tells us that Dean Street has hired Simon Glenn, best known for his New Orleans-style Tchoup Shop pop-up at d.b.a. in Brooklyn, to be the restaurant’s new executive chef. Glenn has worked for Jean-Georges Vongerichten, but also down south for the likes of French Master Chef René Bajeux and Mike Fennelly’s of Mike’s on the Avenue. His new menus reflect some New Orleans love, notably in the form of barbecue shrimp and grits, chicken livers on toast with hot pepper jelly, brisket-duck boudin balls, and, at lunch, a hefty shrimp po’ boy.
