• The West Village’s Betel has launched a weekend brunch menu. It’s not just eggs and toast at the Southeast Asian restaurant: Look for son-in-law eggs, which are soft-boiled, deep-fried, and then served with green mango and tamarind. Thai crepes are also on the menu.

• Former Abe & Arthur’s chef Franklin Becker is working on a new quick-service restaurant concept and a book called Good Fat, Great Flavor. [Eater NY]

Sel et Gras has overhauled its menu. Chicken wings get the coq au vin treatment, the risotto is cooked with bouillabaisse stock and decked out with lobster, and instead of beef, the restaurant’s bourguignonne is made with escargots.

• There is a new kind of atlas on sale today in select stores, and instead of landmarks, it points the user toward New York City’s best doughnuts. [Fork in the Road]
