The new brick-and-mortar izakaya from the truck-based Japacurry, called Roku, which we told you about a few months back, looks to be opening shortly. They have a new logo and a liquor license in hand, and we’re just waiting on confirmation of a hard opening date from owner Jay Hamada. As mentioned earlier, Roku is taking over the former Hunan Garden at 1819 Market Street, the space wedged between Sushi Zone and Pisco. Stay tuned for more. [Earlier] Update: Hamada and his team say they’ll be opening October 16.
