Anna Roth Calls Rich Table ‘Fun’ and Unpretentious

This week the Weekly’s Anna Roth joins the crowd of cheers for Rich Table in Hayes Valley, which she says is warm, unpretentious, casual, and the food is “so much fun that you want to hug the Riches at the end of the meal.” She says the best things on the menu come from the pasta section, especially calling out the tajarin with huitlacoche (corn fungus), and the chicken lasagne. (We’ve already raved about the pork version.) Also, she loves Sarah Rich’s thick-sliced fennel levain bread, calling it “chewy and interesting with every bite,” and the buttermilk poached chicken, which she says showed “playful harmony,” despite a couple flaws.
