A Norwegian rally car driver took a corner near a vineyard too fast the other day during the Rallye De France and ended up making verjus. Petter Solberg and his co-driver lost control of their Ford Fiesta and plowed through several banks of green grapes before hitting a telegraph pole, which toppled over onto the fields. No one was hurt, thankfully, and even the winemaker shrugged the whole thing off, telling Decanter, “’he took a tour of my vineyards” and adding his Alsatian grapes may be bruised, but still have “good character.” Check out the video to see how the Chateau Vroom Vroom gets made.
