Pastry Chef Eric Lanlard Coming to Chicago For Lunch, Talk Oct. 29

It’s a good month to be around for guest chefs, between Daniel Humm, Magnus Nilsson, Brian Polcyn and Michael Ruhlman, and now Eric Lanlard. The acclaimed pastry chef and Brit TV host (Glamour Puds… no, we have no idea what that means either) will be here promoting his new book “Tart It Up!” He’ll be the guest at a book signing and lunch at deca in the Ritz-Carlton from noon to 3 p.m. on Monday, October 29; the restaurant will prepare several dishes, sweet and savory, from the book. That night he’ll give a talk on the career path of a pastry chef in England at Chicago Foodways Roundtable at Kendall College; Pleasant House Bakery will be baking pies made to Lanlard’s recipes which can be ordered ahead for $10 each via Brown Paper Tickets.
