We’re not sure whether to be charmed by the sentiment or horrified that this has to exist: Jackson, Mississippi, restaurants are offering meal discounts to diners who eat with people of different races. Enlightened souls receive 22 percent off their meals at various places this week as part of a “Two & Two Together Restaurant Days” promotion sponsored by Mission Mississippi, a group that promotes race relations. “It’s the chance to get out of yourself and see reality in another way,” enthuses one restaurant owner.
