Gagnaire’s gag-reflex be damned, Ludo Lefebvre is suddenly rumored to be taking the fight to Le Colonel though his own fried chicken enterprise. Regurgitating an already widely cloned AP report broadcast verbatim by The Washington Examiner, MSNBC, and The Province, among others (even down to an absent concluding period), Eater notes that Lefebvre’s forthcoming Hollywood project will be named Le Routier, a space themed after French truck stops with affordable bistro dishes, with some collaboration from Jon Shook and Vinny Dotolo. More speculatively, the rumor is now being spread that Lefebvre, who debuted an all-thigh fried chicken at LudoBites 3.0 so good it launched a dedicated food truck, will start a secondary business, possibly his own fried chicken stand. Currently, Ludo’s camp has not confirmed or denied such an enterprise, though the loose talk seems to have been spurred primarily by a comment Señor Ludes made detailing his solution to getting bored in the kitchen, in which he stated, “The solution is to open a new concept.”
