Remember back in August when we mentioned that Lloyd, a whiskey-centric (but not a “whiskey bar”), was on its way to filling the void on East Girard Ave. left vacant by Hot Potato Cafe after El Gordo gave it the kiss of death? Well, it’s throwing the doors open tomorrow. Meal Ticket says that in addition to the wealth of whiskeys, the new venture from New York ex-pats (one of whom is a Philly native) Scott and Taylor Coudriet will have eight taps, 15 beers in bottles, and a selection of classic and house-created cocktails. Scott’s old man is one of the two Lloyds that they named the place after. The other is the bartender in The Shining. Here’s hoping the scene there isn’t as creepy as the bar at the Overlook Hotel. Lloyd, 529 East Girard Avenue, no phone yet.

Update: According to Insider, Lloyd is opening Saturday, October 27.
