During last night’s debate, the stand-mixer manufacturer KitchenAid tweeted, “Obamas gma even knew it was going 2 b bad! ‘She died 3 days b4 he became president’. #nbcpolitics.” Mashable reports the company deleted the tweet and immediately went into crisis mode, issuing multiple apologies over the course of the next few hours. “During the debate tonight, a member of our Twitter team mistakenly posted an offensive tweet from the KitchenAid handle instead of a personal handle,” a rep from the company told Mashable. “The tasteless joke in no way represents our values at KitchenAid, and that person won’t be tweeting for us anymore.” Most are praising the company for the quick reaction, but one user’s grandma wasn’t so happy. “My Grandma just trashed her Mixer,” one user responded to the company, “who by the way is fighting breast cancer and JUST got it.” [Mashable via Daily Intel]
