One hundred and two weeks ago I wrote my first post as an editor for Grub Street, and today I’m writing my last dispatch from this particular desk (though perhaps not my last ever). It’s been an amazing few years of indulging my love of Asian food, stuffing my face in the company of chefs, and welcoming new places to the restaurant scene. Thanks to Tracy Morgan whisperer and RAMBO enthusiast Alan Sytsma for giving me the opportunity; the indefatigable Hugh Merwin for making me laugh, wowing me with his public records skillz, and keeping this whole shebang chugging; and our photographer Melissa Hom for crisscrossing the city daily to keep the blog in stellar images. And then there’s the ever-patient Jed Egan in photo, all of our copy editors, and our particularly great current intern crew. I’m off to Thailand for a few weeks, and after that I’ll be bumming around NYC trying to pay my rent as a food and travel writer. I won’t say good-bye, but I will say laaeo phohp gan mai, which in Thai means “See you later.”
