A new pan-Asian place from Eric Ehler, the Korean-born chef who started the pop-up Seoul Patch earlier this year at Rocketfish, is opening in November if all goes well. It’s called Gung Ho (680 Eighth Street between Brannan and Townsend), it’s right at the border of the Design District in the former Rockstar Sushi (now closed), and as the Scoop reports, Ehler is going to start out serving the worker crowd, with pastry and coffee in the morning and lunch service, with happy hour and dinner to follow later on. A menu is already on his website, and features things like a pork belly croissant, a kimchi pancake, and hangar steak bibimbap. Stay tuned for an opening date announcement. [Scoop]
