South Brooklyn restaurateurs Frank Castronovo and Frank Falcinelli have seem to have left 17 Clinton Street, once home to Frankies 17 Spuntino and most recently the pinxtos-and-sherry spot Francesca. Bowery Boogie reports the roll-down gate has stayed there for weeks, and a tell-tale For Rent sign now adorns the front window. Meanwhile, Grub Street hears that 372 Columbia Street, a Red Hook address that may be the “project” Franks hinted they were working on, will open as a catering and events space. Sounds good, but we’re hoping they at least will open a sausage stand across from Defonte’s or something. The best news, after all, is often the wurst news. [Bowery Boogie, Earlier, Earlier]
