The Green Chicago Restaurant Coalition has named seven local establishments to its Guaranteed Green Program for their sustainability efforts. The new additions to the list, which already had 27 local foodservice providers on it, include restaurants Hub 51, Piece Pizza and Brewery, Sandwich Me In, and Autre Monde in Berwyn, as well as caterers Savor and Food For Thought, and the charter school Academy For Global Citizenship. The certification is a collaboration between the Green Chicago Restaurant Coalition and third-party certifier Green Seal, based in D.C., and is based on criteria developed to reflect sustainability goals specific to the Chicago area.
