The Starr fleet just beamed word to us that Fette Sau, the offshoot of Joe Carroll’s celebrated Williamsburg barbecue joint that’s going in next door to Frankford Hall, will open on Wednesday, October 17, at 5 p.m. As Carroll told us in weeks past, the Fishtown branch will feature a menu similar to the Brooklyn original: dry-rubbed meats sold by the pound; simple vegetables, pickles and salads as sides; nine draught beers, including three custom brews from Pennsylvania breweries; and an extensive collection of American whiskeys. We’re still awaiting details on what “Philly-specific” plates will be served. Stay tuned.
