Rosa Mexicano may have a great gluten-free menu and boast a talented consulting chef who’s integrated a whole new farm-to-table element to its menu, but while the restaurant chain may serve the occasional ramp, it doesn’t have any installed. The U.S. Attorneys’ office has filed a suit against the high-profile, celebrity-friendly establishment for not complying with the Americans With Disabilities Act. Manhattan U.S. Attorney Preet Bharara says Rosa’s multiple locations are missing access for those with disabilities, including entrances, bars, and bathrooms. “As alleged,” he says in a statement, “neither the ADA, nor the warnings from this Office were enough to convince these restaurants to comply with the law, and the goal of this lawsuit is to see that they finally do.” [NYO]
