On Halloween, Beau du Bois, the bartender at Culver City’s new Corner Door, will unleash his new fall cocktail menu at 10:00 P.M., offering all drinks for nine-dollars to ride out rest of the evening. Broken into two sections, one for simpler “Shaken” cocktails, the other a more complex “Stirred” selection, the drinks carry intriguing names and fresh materials. For example, there’s the “Adult Kid’s Juice Box,” with yellow chartreuse, vodka, lemon and apple juices, a drink called “Grandma’s Pack of Cigarettes” with rye, creme de cacao, chocolate chili bitters, and punt e mes, and the “Lumberjack Liquor Cabinet,” this drink you see above, built around a smoked cinnamon stick with ingredients like bourbon, apple brandy, grapefruit bitters, and maple syrup mixed on top of the mist.
Du Bois’ old drink menu will be offered from opening until 10:00 P.M., at which point the new menu takes over. Meanwhile, chef Luke Reyes tells us he’s got some spooky specials up his sleeve for the evening.
