Chow has some early word on the newly open Borgo Italia in the former B Restaurant space in Old Oakland. They say both their morning pastries and their deserts are “outrageously good,” and intrepid Chowhounder Robert Lauriston sings the praises of the fried stuffed bread from Emilia-Romagna they call torta fritta, “fresh, hot, puffy little breads with prosciutto di Parma.” As we mentioned earlier, they also serve Neapolitan pizza, and Northern Italian pastas and stews. The only caveat is that the service, apparently, is “still finding its rhythm.” [Chow]
