
SF Mag’s Sara Deseran just penned a trend piece about the ongoing fervor for all things meat, and the sort of pornographic bent that images of butchery have taken on. “When you live in a culture that’s so far removed from its food source—not to mention death—the feeling you get from seeing, say, a pork chop as a pig first is memorable,” she writes. “We’re starved for this kind of connection … But as it stands now, the whole-animal movement has collectively metastasized into something more gluttonous than virtuous.” [SF Mag]
