Test Kitchen, the concept housed in the Sotto space in the second half of 2010 to offer chefs an experimental stage to try out new concepts and indulge their obsessions, is back this fall. Starting Monday, Sotto will host a one-night dinner with Rocco DiSpirito, who will be joined by Quinn Hatfield and Neal Fraser, who previously worked with the New York chef at his Union Pacific in Manhattan before conquering L.A. According to a Test Kitchen announcement, this marks the first time DiSpirito will cook in L.A. in nearly ten years. The chef plans to prepare dishes from his new book Now Eat This! Italian, Favorite Dishes From the Real Mamas of Italy.
Meanwhile, Test Kitchen plans its reemergence at the future home of Bestia, with events planned from October 16 to November 11. Potential guest-chefs include Javier Plascencia, Gino Angelini, Micah Wexler, Nancy Silverton, and Jeremy Fox. DiSpirito’s $65 prix fixe menu is below, while each table will receive a copy of his book and the chef will be available to sign it. Wine pairings and cocktails from Julian Cox and Josh Goldman will also be an option. Reservations can be obtained over email.
