Seems like tasting menu fever is sweeping through the city’s restaurants as we enter fall. La Calaca Feliz (and its suburban sister Cantina Feliz) is the latest to pile on the prix fixe bandwagon. The current menu, dubbed “Back to Cool,” features four courses by Tim Spinner and several members of his cooking staff, who were inspired by dishes they grew up with in Mexico. It runs $30 a person, and will be served through Sunday. (You can peep the dishes below) A separate Herradura Tequila pairing is available for an additional $12. Next up on the Feliz tasting menu roster is a Dia de los Muertos (Mexican Day of the Dead) menu that will be on from October 29 through November 3.

Course 1:
Chicharino: pickled pork skin, lime mayo, lettuce, tomato, queso fresco

Course 2:
Camarones enchipotlados: Shrimp with chipotle sauce, pico de gallo

Course 3:
Grilled skirt steak with cauliflower and queso Oaxaca flauta

Scoop of ice cream or sorbet
