Superba Starts Friday Lunch and Weekend Brunch, Gets Big-Ups From Besha

Today Besha Rodell reviews Superba Snack Bar, summing up the new Venice phenomenon as “positively magnetic,” instead of, say, rambling on about it for 763 paragraphs like we did last week. Starting tomorrow, exec chef Jason Neroni is adding a new day-time menu that offers a Friday lunch service and weekend brunch. The selection includes new griddle items like sunny side eggs with kale pesto and baked items like ricotta Dutch pancakes with lemon curd and oatmeal peanut butter scones. Even cooler, Neroni is branching out into a hearty selection of sandwiches that include mole meatballs with cotija, cilantro, and Napa cabbage, a vegetarian-friendly tartine with nutella, crushed hazlenuts, and stewed oranges, a fried chicken sandwich, and a fourteen-dollar brisket burger with smoked cheddar. Come scope the menu!

We’re told Superba’s planned bakery concept is still far from materializing, but we’re guessing the baked items and sandwiches might foreshadow some of the eventual output there. In any case, can we still get a “Hell yeah” for brisket burgers and mole meatballs?!
