A Fox affiliate in Oregon (via HuffPo) relates the delightful story of Rogue Brewery’s John “More Hops” Maier, a brewmaster who hasn’t shaved in 34 years. After several failed attempts to collect wild yeast from hop plants and ferment a new brew, the brewery set its swabs on Maier’s follicles, and success! The small batch beard beer will be ready next year, and despite the fact that the brewery is in Newport, Oregon, this couldn’t be more Portlandia. It’s like they’re just fucking with us now.
