–Toddrickallen takes a first look into the big changes gracing Spago, which so far looks rather austere and like a steakhouse. [TRA]
–The Peninsula is offering an introduction into its tequila and tacos menu next Wednesday in a $88 prix-fixe featuring Patron cocktails paired with black bass tequila tacos, short rib tacos with calabecita, and picante panna cotta. The rooftop will then carry the tacos daily starting September 14. [GS]
Citywide: Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf is offering twelve-ounce pumpkin and amaretto lattes and ice-blendeds for one-dollar this Thursday, September 6, with all proceeds going to each store’s participating local food bank through Feeding America. [GS]
–Loteria Grill, all locations except at The Grove, are now offering a $14 “Executive Lunch” of three set courses, entrees changing each day of the week, and served in 30 minutes or less for the busy suit on-the-go. [GS]

Downtown: Drago Centro is offering a pasta-making workshop with chef Ian Greslik this Thursday and again on October 4 at 7:00 P.M. $140 buys a two-hour class, passed apps, pasta tastings, and house wine, with a take-home gift bag PR describes as “special.” [GS]

Pasadena: This Sunday, Haven Gastropub is starting a new monthly dinner with its brewmaster, Dave Larsen at $25 a person. The first menu features roasted chicken with Larsen’s own marinade, plus garlic mashed spuds and veggies, with beers from Haven and other breweries that he’ll discuss. Reservations at 626-768-9555.
