Bauer Counts Himself a Fan of Plaj

Michael Bauer has a lot of compliments for chef Robert Sundell’s Scandinavian-driven menu at Plaj, at the Inn at the Opera (333 Fulton Street). He’s especially fond of the salads, Sundell’s gravlax preparation, and “a beautifully realized sashimi of white fish with hot dill oil, pickled onions, ginger and crisp shallots.” He’s disappointed with the chicken dish, but loves his beef tenderloin, ox cheek, and potato dumplings.
