Staten Islanders were no doubt excited by Friday’s report indicating the borough might soon get New York City’s very first Sonic Drive-In. The Advance says a Facebook user left a comment on the month-old “5,000 fans for a Sonic on Staten Island” group page, saying her entrepreneur father would soon be bringing roller-skating car hops, Coney dogs, malted shakes, and burgers to Richmond Valley. “Staten Island is an area that is being considered for development,” a representative tells Grub Street this afternoon, adding, “We have no information to share at this time.” [Staten Island Advance]
