One-Dollar Cocktails at the Tippler; Fatty Crab’s Seventh Anniversary

• Flatiron restaurant Silk Rd Tavern will host a seven-course beer-tasting dinner with Flying Dog Brewery on Wednesday, September 19. Flying Dog beer will pair with dishes like braised short rib with kimchee Brussels sprouts and Korean macaroni and cheese. The Smith Midtown is launching weekday lunch delivery. The American brasserie will deliver Monday through Friday, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., from 47th Street to 55th Street and 1st Avenue to Lexington Avenue. The delivery menu includes items not on the regular lunch menu like a traditional shrimp roll and a variety of pressed melts served on baguettes. [Grub Street]

• Come up with a community project related to sustainable food and farming for a chance to speak at TEDxManhattan 2012. Applications for the TEDxManhattan Challenge must be received by October 1. Projects entered should have a name, involve other members of a community, and positively impact how that community eats. [Grub Street]

• Next Monday, September 24, Swine on Hudson Street is offering a prix fixe Hatch Chile dinner in honor of New Mexico’s seasonal Hatch Chiles.
