What to Eat at Cindy Pawlcyn’s Grill, Now Open in St. Helena

As we learned just before Labor Day, Cindy Pawlcyn is changing things up for the second year in a row at her restaurant space at 641 Main Street in St. Helena. Once upon a time it was Go Fish, then last summer it became Brassica, and as of last night it has morphed once again into the more locals-friendly Cindy Pawlcyn’s Wood Grill and Wine Bar. Pawlcyn says she wanted to bring people back for more regular visits via a more American and accessible menu, so as you can see below it’s a slightly dressed up meat-and-potatoes affair, with pizzas, fish, burgers, and Pawlcyn’s signature salads in the mix too.

Brassica’s popular eggplant fries were held over by popular demand, and they’re on the starters list here.

Also, there’s a good sounding and fairly simple cocktail list, and a continuation of Brassica’s innovative wine program. Darren McRonald remains the chef.
