Every time Inky critic Craig LaBan types the words “funky brunch,” our minds drift to Carmen’s Country Kitchen, the kitschy, homey and homely mainstay at 11th and Wharton that’s been bringing the funk to brunch for the last 20 or so years. Sadly though, Carman’s is calling it quits. OG Philly food blogger Holly Moore is saying the corner joint will close in December, because the building’s owner won’t renew Carman’s lease. It’s reportedly going to be replaced by a pizza place. [HollyEats/Facebook]
