Speaking of $4 burgers, how about some $5 burgers? The owner of a hydroponic gardening store set along the BQE-boundaried fringe of Carroll Gardens appeared in front of CB6 Brooklyn on Monday night seeking a liquor license for his shop at 321 Hicks Street. Robert Veksler, who was approved, told the committee his plans are to open a gastropub in place of his shop. Among other things, the restaurant will serve “Shake Shack–style burgers for $5,” and Veksler said he wants to attract neighborhood residents “who don’t want to go all the way to Court Street.” Good news for those who miss Five Guys.
