Anthony Gualtieri, the rising hospitality star who has spent time in both front- and back-of-the-house trenches in this town, including recent stints at Stateside and Le Bec Fin, was sidelined a few weeks ago when he was struck by a car while riding his bicycle. Though he suffered a broken neck, broken leg and assorted other injuries, he miraculously survived. But while out of work, in and out of hospitals and rehabilitation facilities, and on the mend, his medical bills have been stacking up. To offset his mounting financial injuries, Gualtieri’s friends have organized a benefit to raise funds to help him pair down his expenses. It takes place Tuesday, September 18 at Yards Brewing Company’s Tasting Room. The organizers are asking for a $20 donation at the door.

From 7 p.m. to 1 a.m., Yards will pour $5 pints, and for an additional $10 donation, Wes Thompson Smoky Mutts Southern Barbecue will dish up some of its barbecue specialties. For those who can’t make it out to Yards Tuesday, but still want to help, donations can be made online through this link here.
