Temporary Closings

Strange Doings at Tapestry [UPDATED]

Tapestry
Tapestry

Tapestry, the Queen Village bar and restaurant that took over the corner of Fifth and Bainbridge streets after Adsum called it quits there last year, is closed. And it’s been closed since last week. Owners Robert Nydick and Kar Vivekananthan told Foobooz that it’s nothing more than a much needed vacation, which seems a little suspect. Even more suspicious, is the fact that Manayunk’s Agiato, which also falls under the umbrella of Belvedere Restaurant Group, and was recently reopened after extensive renovations, is closed for vacation too. Whether or not the organization is in trouble, or if its owners and staff are simply soaking up some R&R; remains to be seen. The official word is, Tapestry will reopen this Friday. [Foobooz]

Update: Belvedere Restaurant Group’s Rob Nydick checked in to assure us that all’s good with Tapestry and Agiato. Both are set to reopen Friday after staffers and management return from a company-wide week-long break for vacation.
