Some changes are afoot at 1957 Union Street, the home of charcuterie and cheese shop/wine bar Spuntino di Ottimista. Grub Street finds some liquor license activity today showing that Jim Howell, the owner of Barrique wine bar in Jackson Square, is taking over the spot. We’re not sure if it’s going to be another wine bar in the style of Barrique (though this time there will be a retail component), and there’s no official business name yet, but the holding company is called Bicciere. Howell was not available for comment, and a rep at Barrique said that a new project was in the works but there were no details to share just yet. Stay tuned.
