You know what these are (above)? They’re pie buttons. Yes, miniature hand pies from Ru’s Pie Club, a sweet little pop-up we just learned about via a very small event at someone’s home in Bernal Heights dubbed Spuntino. It’s the project of Oakland-based Ru Cymrot-Wu, and she does regular-size pies too, all by online order, which you can do here, and she’ll deliver. Note: She won a People’s Choice award from Mission Pie last year for her ollalieberry-peach pie.

Next up, Tasting Table reminds us about Naked Kitchen (the underground pop-up at 945 Valencia which hosted an event with Duende’s Paul Canales earlier this year). Their next dinner, on August 25, is sold out, but keep an eye out for details here about their September 15 event, as well as another Duende preview dinner with Canales on September 16.

And last but not least, Belinda Leong’s b. patisserie, which is set to open a brick-and-mortar shop later this year at Divisadero and California, is doing a pop-up event on Sunday, August 26, at Central Kitchen to celebrate the one-year anniversary of her solo business. She’ll be selling her delectable kouign-amann; a chocolate-banana pudding; macarons; brioche feuilletée au aucre (a sugar-coated, layered brioche served with housemade confiture); and lemon-olallieberry and almond bostock (twice baked brioche, lemon syrup, olallieberry confiture, almond cream and sliced almonds). This is all happening from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. [SFist]
