Paul Qui, winner of Top Chef (over our local fave, Sarah Grueneberg of Spiaggia) will have a chance to show his stuff to Chicagoans next Tuesday at A Magnificent Taste, a benefit for Common Threads being staged as part of the MasterCard-sponsored Magnificent Mile Shopping Festival running from Friday through August 6. A considerable range of Mag Mile-area chefs will be out in force joining Qui in serving up bites, including Anthony Martin (Tru), Ryan Poli (Tavernita), Patricio Sandoval (Mercadito), Doug Psaltis (RPM Italian), Arnie Tellez (Shaw’s) and Rick Gresh (David Burke Primehouse), and it will also be an early chance to see what Lee Wolen will be doing at The Peninsula and how Argent has evolved under new chef Nathan Huntington. It will take place in Pioneer Court (401 N. Michigan), from 6:30 to 9:00 p.m., and general admission tickets are $125, while VIP tickets, including a meet and greet with Paul Qui, will be $200; go here for tickets and more information.
