Closings

KO Prime Is Down for the Count

It’s lights out for Nine Zero’s once-swank steakhouse. KO Prime’s last day was Saturday, about a month after Ken Oringer announced that he was no longer involved with the restaurant. Maybe Oringer’s departure was the kiss of death: “High prices, blah atmosphere, mediocre food. I’m not sure what the draw is but KO looks as potent as Mike Tyson did in his last bout,” a recent Yelp! review lamented.

Oddly, the Nine Zero kitchen will stay open for room service and breakfast. According to their Facebook page, “All good things must come to an end. As of August 25, KO Prime will be bidding a fond farewell and closing its doors. This closure will not have any effect on the catering and room service operations at Nine Zero Hotel - we’ll continue to fulfill the appetites of our food-loving travelers with room service seven days a week, as well as offering breakfast. A sincere thank you for your patronage through the years. It’s been a fun ride!”

Meanwhile, Bambara at the Kimpton’s Hotel Marlowe is still open. [FB]
