The food webs have been abuzz with Julia Child nostalgia the past two weeks — it seems, even a couple years after a feature film about her and eight years after her death, everyone is still in love with the woman. And who can blame them? Starting today and through the 15th you can enjoy a Julia Child tribute menu at RN74 for $39 (there’s also a $29 lunch option), featuring dishes inspired by her seminal cookbook, including Vichyssoise and a navarin of lamb with summer vegetables. Then on Monday August 13, eight years to the day of her passing, Jardinière will be serving a prix fixe in her honor for $49 including pairings. That menu will include her signature coq au vin. (As you can see, the restaurant also passed along the cute, undated photo at left of Julia with executive chef-owner Traci Des Jardins.) That one is booking up fast and reservations are advised.
