An alternative to this weekend’s celebrity chef-crammed Food & Wine Festival will be kicking off in Chinatown this Saturday, as CSI: “Chinatown Summer Nights” returns from 5:00 P.M. to midnight with an outdoor cooking demo from the chefs at Wu Ha Thai, a soup eating contest that we’re happy we don’t have to clean up after, food trucks, and a craft beer garden. In addition, Jet Tila, owner of The Charleston and Lupe Liang, the exec chef at Hop Woo, will battle over mushrooms in a cooking competition. Entry is free and food available on a for-sale basis.
