Google has announced it will be buying Frommer’s travel guidebooks as part of the company’s effort to continue amassing its local content and battling Yelp for local advertising dollars. Google plans to initially keep Frommer’s online reviews under the Frommer’s brand name while they slowly integrate it with their current Zagat content, which was purchased nearly a year ago.
